    I purchased this book about a month ago. I bought this book because it is colorful, well-written, and short(30 pages or so). Primarily, I purchased this book because it is a great tool for an instructor who wants to introduce ethics to his students. The book's story is set in a near utopian town called Omelas. However, in order for everyone to enjoy the utopia, one little boy,locked away in a 2X3 cell-like room, is subjected to harsh treatment. This book leads you to question the concept of utilitarianism. Is the greatest good for the majority truly ethical? Some people disagree; those are the persons who walk away from Omelas. I love the book for its brevity and style. Overall, I would recommend the book to instructors of ethics who want to use this as an introductory teaching tool, and ...
